Anatoli Slepyshev, Peasant, Horse and little dog
"Many of those who left Russia in the 'third wave' of emigration took with them works by their friends who had stayed behind in Russia. In this way the Brochetains were able to buy paintings by artists working in Moscow, such as Steinberg, Weisberg, Kalinin, Svechnikov, Slepyshev, Zverev, Yakovlev and Nemukhine. In their never-ending quest to acquire more knowledge and to buy further paintings, Lili and Michel travelled frequently to Vienna (the first stop on the way out of Russia for most emigres) New York and Jerusalem".
